Hi everyone, as Rachel requested, I've put our details here. I'm 32 and married to Damien, 28, yes that makes me a hornbag!!!
We have Elsbeth who is nearly 14 months old and has curly ginger-blonde hair.
I'm a full time mum and enjoying it mostly, although I feel like I haven't come up for air for over a year now. I try to take me time whenever I can and I don't feel guilty about it either.
I used to be an orthoptist, eye therapist, and then worked as a rehabilitation counsellor in occupational rehab. Not a very fun job, but it had it's interesting times. I guess I've had to adjust a lot to being a mum with the main issue being that I've had to learn a new set of skills with very little training or guidance. Pinky and all the great mums here have been absolutely invaluable!!!!!!! You've encouraged me in parenting the way that feels right, thanks!!!!!
We live in Sydney and are renovating a very old house. Damien's a carpenter/builder which means he does a lot of the work on our house himself. I used to help a lot BC, but aren't able to any more
. We plan to have more kids. I'm not quite ready yet, and I've got issues around birth that I'm working on. I love being a mum and feel so privileged to help raise another human being and assist her to become the unique person that she is. I'm getting teary, well that's us, look forward to hearing about others. Kimberley

Ok well Im 32 too and married to Steve and we have a darling little boy Jesse who is 1yr 2days old today! Presently a full time mum too and BC I was in the fitness industry. We live on the Gold Coast and have just sold our house in Sydney and bought another here on the GC. Which we'er very happy about because we're renting and want to nest with a house of our own. Plus this whole process has taken almost a year and its very draining. I originally didnt want another child but my feelings have changed. Perhaps in another four years Ill be ready again! Umm and thats me! Not very exciting but me all the same... Amanda

Happy birthday to Jesse
Im not telling you how old I am!! Used to tell the bonus bub I was twenty nine (i was 39 when he was born!)til one day he said Gee mummy you are the youngest mum in our class - loretta (the next "youngest" mum)has had her birthday and shes 30! Thought it was time to come clean.
Pinky ( still 29) and becoming a grandmother next year!

Hahahaha Pinky! Does that make you the worlds youngest grandmother (wink wink)...in heart hey if not in years...
Thanks too for the Birthday Wishes for Jesse! Amanda

absolutely!! One day had an ad rep drop by from amag I was editing - all the neighbours kids were floating round as well as my own. he didnt ask if they were all mine, just assumed and said, "you dont look old enough to have all these children." Couldnt resist - told him "it all started behind the shelter shed!"
Poor guy went red and didnt know where to look.
Actually my oldest kid happens to be older than me if Im only 29!

LOL LOL LOL Pinky!! I bet poor guy... Probably scarred him for life...
Shhh we wont tell anyone (wink wink) plus if you can get your ‘oldest kid’ to fudge their age too you’ve got it made…

Well, I'm 33 nearing 34 and still don't feel old enough to have a mortgage, kids and a stationwagon.... Married to Brian (40) and have three beautiful boys Patrick (7) Brannan (5) and Seamus (9mths). We moved back to the country 5 years ago ( I lived here and Brian is a city boy but loves the country) We bought a freight business in June and love working for ourselves. So I'm a stay at home Mum with a little bit of bookwork to do. I love craft, scrapbooking, reading and trying to enjoy the running (picture Cliff Young in gumboots) We want another baby and although I really enjoy the 5 year age gap between Brannan and Seamus we'd like to have one sooner rather than later - Brian's no spring chicken.
PS Have had 6 pregnancy's 2 misc, 1 ectopic, 3 boys with the last one conceived by AI (artificial Insemination) MOOOOO yep I feel like a cow every time I think of that. So finger's crossed intervention won't be needed with #4....

Know what you mean Jo about not feeling old enough for the grown up stuff. It must be great to live in the country. I've recently started 'scrapping' and really enjoy it. Good luck with your next pregnancy, we're all behind you!!! Kimberley

Hey Jo, great to hear about you and your family/life... I was an avid runner but alas since Jesse I havent had the motivation (until recently) to start up again! One day Ill make into comp!
You’ve had allot of ups and downs but here you are all the stronger and wiser.
Im also a country girl with a big city boy who is quite a bit older than myself (14yrs to be precise). For me Im not ready for another although I did speed things up for Steve with Jesse as a result) Im afraid regardless of his age he'll have to wait for the next!
More power to you girls!
Amanda

Hey Gals,
Sorry to hear about your losses Jo, hope the next pregnancy is problem free
LOL pinky, your a hoot!
and Happy B'day to Jesse too! Hope his party went well, Amanda!
I'm almost 23, living in wollongong, NSW. Married to David 25 and our gorgeous bubba is Taliver who is about 17 months I think (LOL I'm no good at keeping track, don't ask me what he weighs!) and saying a new word just about everyday which is enchanting!
I'm a receptionist at an eye surgery 2 days a week but what I really want to do is photograpy. My hubby is a business analyst at AHM and is at uni part time studying to become a primary school teacher. In 3 years he'll be finished and we will move out to the sticks somewhere for his teaching and buy our first home and maybe have another bub.
Thats us I s'pose :P

Thanks Michelle! Yay for Taliver re. his new words! Clever little guy...

Hey Amanda,
noticed the age difference with you and Steve. You fox!!! It must be great to be the young one in the relationship. Lucky for me Damien's not dashingly handsome (lol), although handsome all the same, so I don't have to try too hard!! I assure him even though chronologically I'm 32, my real age is probably mid 20's, like how Pinky's 29, so in fact he has a younger woman. He humours me and I let him humour me so it works well for all concerned. cheers Kimberley

Lol Kimberley that’s funny. I was going to say before actually when you said about your ages and you being the hornbag that one I didn’t know what hornbag meant lol and two that isn’t it funny how we are geared to accept a younger women but not a younger man... We used to get lots of looks actually. I feel age is just a number (providing of course you are both consenting adults) and if you connect that’s all that matters... Cheers Amanda

Haha, yeah that's right about it being more acceptable to accept a younger woman than a younger man. Well a hornbag is a Kath & Kim term, often used by Kimmy to describe her excellent looks, charm, style, and general wonderfulness oh and most of all her irresistableness to men. Obviously dreaming!! oh well...Kimberley

Ahh ok lol
I dont think Ive ever seen an episode of K&K...?
Well I bet to Damian you are a Hornbag!

NEVER seen an episode of Kath and Kim???? What, NEVER???
Girl!!
You don't know what your missing!
They are playing repeats on wednesday nights at 9pm on abc. IF you can stay up that late :P

Lol no never really...! I have seen them on shows hosting and stuff and one actually looks like DHs sister which amuses us but no never seen an episode. Sorry girls but I dont think theyre my cup of tea...

wow, I've never met a person who didn't love them before :P

Oh Amanda, they're brash and crass and all that yucky stuff, but they're really amusing. The funniest thing is when you see people you know in them and worst of all, yourself, aaagh!! If you only ever watch one episode, it has to be the wedding. Pumpkin coach and all (I was going to have one but decided my hair would get too messed up). It's a worry!! Kimmy

They're unewesual.....My DH couldn't stop laughing this week when Kimmy went on her kickstart (cabbage) diet. I don't know, boys and they're fart jokes!!!
Jo

Lol guys you crack me up! Glad youre feeling better to Jo! Take care all Amanda

finally, after a huge couple of weeks i can post. rachel, i did post an intro last week but clicked the wrong bit and it was gone and then babies woke....
anyway, i am becc, 32, married to nigel for 7 years (no itch though) and living in melbourne. pre babies i worked as an emergency triage nurse and have surprised myself with my lack of desire to return to paid work. babywise, we had max, stillborn at 20 weeks with heart abnormalities 5 years ago this month, then a loooooooooong wait and some IVF assistance to have nicholas, 2 this month and seamus, 5 months. have 7 more embryos on ice so the family joke is that i could bump nigel off and still have a nice big family!! with only an 18 month gap between my boys, it is a very busy house but i love it, mostly. this week has been rough with a hit of mastitis and some sleep deprivation but i have great family support and my boys happily play with any of our rels, and are wonderful with each other so i can get a bit of help. bit mushy brained so i can't really add much more.
